With the availability of hundreds of over the counter and prescription drugs found in the market, treating depression is not hard at all, but what’s challenging is to find the real cause to treat you with natural cures for depression. More and more cases of depression in teens are being reported today by doctors and scientists. This may be because more teens are asking for help with their condition, because doctors are getting better at diagnosing the condition, or simply because there are more and more cases to be reported.

We can’t ignore the fact of teen depression as it is spreading rapidly. For whatever the factor it might be but some cases are so serious which have ended up in tragedy. You have to take action against it if you or a family member of yours is suffering from depression.

The many causes of depression in teens range from physical problems internally to external circumstances that cause them to learn depression. Depression itself is caused by a chemical reaction in the brain, where it does not regulate and release a chemical necessary for a good mood.

If the required amount of this chemical is not produced then you will anyway lead to depression. It is also caused in teens mostly due the chemical imbalance. Many other physical causes like fluctuation of hormones which is common during puberty can also lead to depression.

Some of these physical causes of depression in teens can go away over time, as they get older and those hormones level off. However it is dangerous to assume that this will happen and then ignore the symptoms and other causes of this condition.

It’s thought that problems such as bullying can cause depression in teens. Keep in mind that often when a person feels trapped and helpless in their situation this can lead to depression, regardless of the situation they feel trapped in – a bad marriage, severe debt, a stressful job, and so on.

Teens and kids are often helpless when it comes to being bullied in school. Where as adults can soon come out of problems. Teens are often afraid to discuss such things with their parents also.

This helplessness and frustration with the problem, as well as the humiliation they may be suffering, can often cause depression in teens. Other situations can be similar to how a bullied teen feels.

For instance if they live in an abusive home or even if one parent is negligent or abusive, if they are using any kind of drugs, if they have failing grades, or if they feel they are under tremendous amounts of pressure to perform academically or athletically, these factors too can cause depression in teens.

Teens should approach their parents whenever they are stuck in a problem, and parents should help them find a solution not punish them. They also need a lot of family support which will also help them to recover.
