Middle Ages cuisine

When we speak about the Middle Ages the basic matter that comes to head are the castles and guards images. Yet there is a part of the culture that is often overlooked. This part consists of the fine culinary art that was practiced at this period. Depending on the social class they belong to individuals ate diverse types of foods. For example meat was appropriated for the rich people and the noble class. Rich people were in fact the only one that was hunting for venison.

Meat that was consumed at this time was primarily poultry. The primary food of the Middle Ages consisted chiefly of various type of bread. The rich people consume a type of bread made from wheat. The bread of the lower class was established on barley. This disparity in food consumption was also established on the opinion that the food of a person should be founded on the type of task he does. The rich had also the chances of domesticating animals for their personal foods and thus had an available source of provision.
